1975 The company was in profit[3]

1977 Acquired Beaver Group[4]. The company had 5 divisions[5]:

  • Hard trim - two-thirds of the business was serving BL[6]
  • Building products
  • Foam
  • Soft trim

1977 Acquired Hygienic Paints

1978 Cementone subsidiary, making additives, improved profits; integration of S. A. Richardson, maker of wood preservatives[7]

1980 With Crouch Group formed CODEC (GRC)[8]

1981 With Pace Petroleum acquired Aston Martin Lagonda[9]. Acquired property developer Audmore Properties.

1983 Established a factory at Milton Keynes for Aston Martin Tickford to make Jaguar cabriolets, the Jaguar Capri, for BL[10]

1986 Acquired car components supplier, Valor Bruce, from Valor Co in exchange for shares[11]

1991 the company had heavy borrowings and, when it went into loss, receivers were appointed[12]
