Astaron Electronics
1961 Ferranti Ltd acquired the electricity meter business of Aron Meters Ltd[1] which became a new subsidiary; the remainder of Aron's business carried on under a new name: Astaron Electronics[2].
1962 Astaron Electronics sold its property in Kilburn[3]. The electronic summation business was transferred to Aron Meters, which was consistent with the earlier agreement[4]
1963 Sydney S. Bird and Sons acquired the major part of Astaron Electronics, that connected with contracts for the government and Marconi International Marine. The remainder of the business was sold once its business commitments had been completed[5]. The sale of plant and machinery and of the factory took place before the end of the year[6]
Merchant bankers, Rea Brothers, injected several businesses into the company, rescuing it from liquidation[7]
1964 The name was changed to Stocklake Holdings, operating in merchanting and wool spinning[8]
