ARTHUR ROLAND WOODHALL, born at Dudley in 1887, was educated at King's College, Birmingham, and Birmingham Technical College, from whence he took an external honours B.Sc. degree of London University.

His practical training comprised seven years as a pupil with Messrs. Bellis and Morcom and the General Electric Co. at Birmingham.

He then became Chief Engineer, in 1913, of the Midland Rubber Co., and subsequently occupied a similar position with the Associated Rubber Manufacturers, Messrs. Harper Bean, and the North British Rubber Co.

During the War Mr. Woodhall acted as chief engineer at a national fuse, shell and gun factory in the Midlands.

He became an Associate Member of this Institution in 1925; and he died on 19th October 1926.
