Captain ALEC JOHN BUCKERIDGE TITT was born at Warminster in 1870, and entered the works of Messrs. J. Wallis Titt in 1888.
After twelve months' preliminary experience he went to Leeds to serve a three-and-a-half years' apprenticeship with Messrs. John Fowler and Company.
He then returned to Warminster to become works manager of the Woodcock Works, and eventually in 1905 he took sole charge of the business of Messrs. J. Wallis Titt.
The most important engineering work for which the firm was responsible was the equipment of a number of small waterworks with wind-power plant.
During the War Captain Titt served in the R.A.S.C., and after demobilization in 1919 he resumed direction of his firm's activities.
His death occurred on 21st August 1928.
He became a Member of the Institution in 1920.
