Albert Charles Lee was born in 1879 and received his early training in automobile engineering under the supervision of Frederick Lanchester.

On the completion of his apprenticeship he remained with the Lanchester Motor Co, first as a Departmental Foreman, and subsequently as Superintendent and Departmental Manager.

He remained with the firm until his death, which occurred on 11th November, 1928.

He was elected a Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1919.
