By 1968 was a subsidiary of Ropner Holdings; acquired William Mills and Co (Sheffield) maker of industrial spades, garden tools[2]

1987 Work on Ptarmigan came to an end, so the unit at Thame was closed. The company was being reorganised because of continued losses, particularly on defence contracts, so the business was being refocused on non-defence work[3]

1988 Ropner Holdings sold the company to its management[4]
