Bridge over canal

Also known as Brynderwen Bridge, Abermule

An impressive cast iron arch bridge carrying the B4386 road across the River Severn. 'Signed' Thomas Penson, County Surveyor, and dated 1852. Ironwork by Brymbo Iron Co. The quality of the detail design and construction reflect great credit on all concerned.

Immediately adjacent is a small cast iron bridge carrying the road over the Montgomeryshire Canal, also by Brymbo and dated 1853.
