1948 Representative of Aberdare Cables in Eire

1957 Agreement with Reynolds International of USA to access Reynolds technical and manufacturing expertise; Reynolds would subscribe for shares[1]

1957 Name changed to Unidare[2]

Had a marketing agreement with Pye on power cables and a transformer manufacturing plant in Northern Ireland[3]

1964 Pye[4] acquired a majority interest in Unidare and put the company in its Power Equipment division which included Lindley Thompson, which had complementary transformer products.

1965 Alcan Ltd acquired 25 percent interest in Unidare, which manufactured electrical cable and a wide range of equipment from aluminium and copper[5]

1970 Philips Electrical (Ireland) acquired Pye's majority interest in Unidare as the company had little in common with Pye's activities[6]

1986 Alcan disposed of its entire stake[7]
